Rory is regarded as one of the leading technology lawyers in the UK, having led practices at Baker McKenzie and Bird & Bird. He has acted on over several hundred transactions in the UK, US and globally, with a value exceeding USD 50 billion, and is described in the professional directories as “leading the pack” and “tough to come up against.”

Rory specialises in corporate and commercial work, principally in the technology sector, including M&A, joint ventures, procurement/outsourcing deals and protection and exploitation of intellectual property. Many of his deals are business-critical and innovative in approach and structure.

Rory joined Kerman & Co in 2019 following the merger of his firm Coffey Graham. Prior to starting his own firm Rory was a partner in a number of leading international law firms in the City of London, including Bird & Bird, Baker McKenzie and Osborne Clarke.

Rory is a well-respected commentator on technology and the law: recent thought-leadership papers cover Blockchain, AI and public procurement. He is a Founding Fellow of the Global Sourcing Association, having been its first legal director. Rory is currently chairman of one of its "Reshaping Sourcing" working groups and presented its findings relating to, among other things, Blockchain and AI, at the GSA UK Symposium in November 2018.
