Alastair is a Partner in our Sports, Media and Commercial Department. He advises on commercial and intellectual property issues and sports regulatory and disciplinary matters. He represents international and national governing bodies, national Olympic committees, major events, sports clubs and individual athletes as well as sponsors, agencies and commercial businesses involved in sport.
Alastair’s specialisms include sponsorship, merchandising and rights exploitation, the delivery and staging of major events and brand protection (both strategy and enforcement). He also advises on defending and challenging regulatory decisions, drafting sports rules and regulations, selection appeals, the World Class Performance Programme, grant funding, anti-doping, intra-sport licensing and child protection matters.
Alastair lectures on the British Association for Sport and Law / De Montfort University Sports Law Diploma, at the Centre for Commercial Law Studies and has written and spoken widely on a number of sports and sponsorship topics (including on social media and digital activation, sports integrity and governance).
