Kerman & Co advise England and Wales Cricket Board and Test grounds in ticketing litigation

27 September 2013

Kerman & Co recently advised the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and three Test grounds (Surrey, Durham and Lancashire) in the first litigation taken by the sport to enforce its ticket terms and conditions.

The ECB and the grounds took action for breach of the ticket terms and conditions after it was discovered that a husband and wife team of touts had targeted Ashes tests over the summer, acquiring over 800 tickets for resale.

The action was initiated by the ECB as part of its ongoing campaign against ticket touting.  Kerman & Co obtained a permanent injunction against the touts as well as costs.

Nick Bitel (Consultant) and Suzanne Proctor (Associate) in the Sports and Commercial Department advised the ECB and the grounds on this litigation.
