Hannah Cowley

Hannah is the Intellectual Property Executive in the firm. She assists with and advises on a number of contentious and non-contentious intellectual property matters that range from trade mark applications and oppositions, brand portfolio management, infringement and passing off claims, copyright and design rights.

Hannah has advised a number of clients with the trade mark registration process, including trade mark searches, the drafting of goods and services classes, ensuring distinctiveness of the mark at examination stage and handling opposition proceedings. She has also, on a number of occasions, successfully negotiated a settlement between the parties on potential opposition and cancellation proceedings (including by way of co-existence agreements), infringement and passing off claims.

Hannah’s experience includes assisting a world-renowned sporting organisation with trade mark registrations and its anti-infringement program, successfully registering London Marathon’s trade mark in the EU and invalidating confusingly similar EU marks, managing a large UK wholesaler’s brand portfolio and its infringement program and advising on potential infringing copyright and design rights.

Hannah is a fully qualified CITMA Paralegal.
